Web Developer in Training

Web Developer (in training) with strong marketing background looking for an entry level Web Development position. I am friendly, mature and flexible individual with passion for learning and strong belief there is always room for self-improvement.

I have Degree in Information Technology in Management. Since 2013 I have studied programming and web technologies with the goal of building a set of skills allowing me to start a career in web development. That included courses teaching hands on skills in specific languages and tools (including HTML, CSS, PHP, MySQL, JavaScript, Python, Laravel and AngularJs) and more rigorous computer science courses like CS50x which focused on more fundamental aspects of programming like algorithms, design patterns and modern application architectures.
My goal is to continue to develop my programming skills and become expert web developer.

I have 5 years working experience in a marketing role in Ireland. Working with ArchitecturalClassics.com I have gained strong SEO and online marketing skills and a lot of transferable skills including communication and teamwork skills.

Professional Poker Player - tournament poker online.

During my time as a poker player I have developed many personal skills including decision making, concentration, organization, planing, patience and self discipline. I have also discovered how much I enjoyed solving problems and decided to pursue a career in software engineering.

Contrary to what many believe, playing poker professionally is not about gambling but well educated and astute investing decisions made over and over again. In fact, poker and stock market investing are very similar, when practiced properly by serious people, both activities are done with the objective of making money. There are elements of luck in both fields in the short-term, but in the long-term the skill of the player/investor should be expected to result in financial gain.
